OK, so there is some interest out there!  Thanks Karyn from My3Kids!

So here is one of my UFOs in progress.  This is a drooping elm leaf lace pattern for a jacket from a 1993 Fashion Knitting pattern.  I am knitting it with Blueberry Hill Heritage Handpaints which I purchased from  http://www.heartstringsfiberarts.com

Here’s a close up of the pattern:

I’ve been in something of a knitting frenzy lately.  I’ve got several UFO (Unfinished objects) floating around the house.

  • a few Christmas gifts which I started early (not even 1/2 way done)
  • a lace dove grey alpaca cardigan from a Jaeger pattern (only the back is done)
  • lace square shawl “Concert in the Park” in copper colored Jaggerspun Zephyr silk/wool (on the last pattern repeat before starting the edging)
  • a lace jacket in Heritage Handpaints Blueberry Hill from an old Fashion Knitting Pattern (1993) (done in the round and I’m 1/2 way up the sweater.

As you can see, I’m having trouble focusing on any one thing.  At least I don’t have a pair of socks going at the same time, then I’d really be a mess!

I’ll post some pictures of the partially done pieces if any one is interested. (except for the Christmas presents of course!) Post your comments on which you would like to see a picture of.

This weekend, I finished blocking the first lace doilies I’ve ever knit.

The white one is from Burda #554 called “Blossoms”(25” D). This was done using Tencel 10/2.  It has a wonderfully soft feel to it, very delicate.

The mauve one (13″ D) is from Knittted Lace by Esbenson and Rasmussen called “Tut”.

Hello all and welcome to my world!  I’m very new to this blog business but I hope to use this as a way of displaying what I do on my daily commute into Hoboken every day.

Here is an example:

This is a picture of a lace shawl which I blocked on my living room floor.  When blocked the shawl is 72″ across the widest point.  It is from the book Meg Swansons’s “A Gathering of Lace” and it was designed by Katie Nagorney and Ann Swanson. (Wool you order, now known as Two Old Bags)

This was my first lace shawl, unfortunately, I didn’t find out about the corrections until the shawl was completed.  Didn’t have the heart to frog.  I’ll do another someday, (probably not in white as this one isn’t that practical).

Here’s a lovely scarf I made for my Mother-in-law for Christmas from a Heartstrings pattern.

I used Douceur et Soie and size 7 needles.  Knitted quite quickly (3 weeks, 2 hours per day).  It is fairly wide almost 20 inches.  Very delicate.  Love the yarn, however, really makes me sneeze.

I’ll post others over time.  Keep an eye out for other items.
